For a man known for screwball comedy, one of the screwiest things Jerry Lewis ever said was telling an audience at Aspen’s U.S. Comedy Arts Festival in 1998 that he didn’t like female comedians. Sure, people are entitled to their opinions, but he couldn’t name one woman he considered funny? That ludicrous belief is comedic gold. On Saturday, April 25, Norfolk comedy group the Pushers presents the all-female sketch comedy show, “Panties in a Twist,” at the National. Spearheaded by performer and writer Alba Woolard, the penis-free production brings the laughs from a female perspective that the Nutty Professor was either too ignorant or just too stupid to grasp.
